Company Directory is a feature in your Telzio phone system that allows callers to search for employees by name, and enables you to choose which departments are searchable.

Adding the Directory to a Call Flow

You can enable callers to search the Directory by offering it as an option in your Phone Menu. For example:

Thank you for calling. If you know the extension of the person you are trying to reach, dial it now. For sales, press 1. For the Company Directory, press 0.

In this case, you would first add an action for the Phone Menu with your recording and two keypad selections, followed by the Directory. Such a Call Flow with the two options presented in the menu greeting, might look like this one:

Call flow chart containing an arrow pointing towards a phone menu, followed by options to route calls to a company directory or to a queue.

Directory Settings

In the Directory settings, you can enable search by first name, last name, or both, and also choose which User Groups to make available in the Directory.

What the Caller Hears

Once the caller reaches the Directory, they’ll hear an announcement asking them to enter the first 3 letters of the person’s name.

Then upon entering the 3 digits, the caller will hear an announcement with the employee name and extension where they can be connected.
